Dear Mr Wong,
I just feel that the opposition is just taking advantage of our good system. Now that all is good in Toa Payoh, the opposition wants to come into Bishan-Toa Payoh and stand for election. Where were they when the upgrading was taking place?
Now that all is "neat" and "tidy", when everyone is happy with the living standards, they want to come and say, heh, vote for us. Well, guess what? The PAP team has done all the work, so why should we give them a "clean" home and take over when the PAP did all the ground work and "cleaned up the mess"?
Come on opposition, we, the voters of Toa Payoh are not blind or foolish. Just passing a "remark" on Mr Wong, does not make him a bad guy. He's done his work. He walked the ground. He has walked the talk. So I am voting PAP in this coming elections.
Mr Wong has done well, in keeping Singapore safe. Just keep up the good work Mr Wong Kan Seng. The voters know what you have done for us in Toa Payoh. I am voting for the PAP for sure.

Dear Mr Wong,
Thank you to you and your team for your continued efforts in our area all these years. I've been living in Upper Thomson for more than 10 years and I love this area very much, and have a lot of pride for it too.
In particular, I would like to mention that Bishan Library is the BEST library I have visited in Singapore so far (and I have travelled to almost all the other libraries to seek the books I want - except the newest Clementi library). Bishan Library is beautiful, well-organized, with great staff. Books are in order and easily found. Contains a very good and satisfying collection for an interested learner's mind.
The staff are professional, polite and helpful. And I particularly appreciate the 'security' who patrol the library to ensure silence and that people behave appropriately for a library environment. Excellent work.

Hi Mr Wong,
PAP Govt has provened itself in building a small red dot into a world renowed country. We are satisfied with what we have and do not need a change. It may become worst if we make a change.
People who have gone overseas & made comparisons, will realise that Singapore is the world best.
We feel at home when we are back from overseas. My family will give PAP the full support in our votes.

Dear Mr Wong,
Lately there has been tremendous pressure from the opposition parties to lower the prices of HDB flats. I hope that Mr Mah and the Government will not succumb to the pressure to do so.
I would like to share how asset appreciation has helped me and my husband to own (fully paid) our current flat. When we were in our 20s and were 'relatively poor' then, we bought our 1st flat (4 room) from HDB in the West. After 5 years, we managed to sell our HDB flat with a decent profit, allowing us to upgrade to a 5 room resale flat (no subsidy) in Bishan (our dream location). Another 5 years later (last year), our 5 room flat has appreciated in value that we sold it at a decent profit again.
Of course, we could have moved to a condominium but after careful consideration, we decided to buy a 4 room resale flat in Bishan (the same location), but this time, we are able to pay up in full (no loan). We are only in our late 30s and now whatever that we have in CPF is for retirement. We would not be able to achieve this without asset appreciation of HDB flats.
I hope all HDB flat owners will think carefully if they want to pay for something that they know for sure will appreciate or pay for something that is worthless. However, if one day the opposition party becomes the Minister for National Development, I think I may have to sell my HDB flat before it devalues and becomes worthless.

An incident that changed my life
I was born 31 years ago in a small 3 room flat in Toa Payoh. My dad was a factory worker dealing with petroleum earning about $1000 a month and my mum was a part time waitress earning around $600 a month. I have a younger brother and my grandma who is in her 60s back then.
During the years when i grow up, I have always been independent as my mum has to go out and work to supplement the family income as my dad pay was never enough to support our family household expenses. I remembered the year in 1995 whereby I have just graduated from Secondary school and is awaiting for entry to a polytechnic while my bro has just finished his PSLE. An incident happened that nearly shaken my whole family.
My dad's company due to some reason was been taken over and under a term in his employment contract, he is not allowed to work for the new company. A legal letter was sent to him stating him to resign from the new company or else faces the consequences of a legal law case. My dad is uneducated with no skill sets and in his 40+, how is he going to find a job at that age and support the family of 5.
Despite numerous attempts to MOM to raise the consents and seeking for help, all we get was that nothing can be done. My dad was in despair and I was prepared to stop my studies to come out and work to supplement the income. To the whole family, it was a moment of despair and gloomy. And it was during this period of gloomy and difficult time that a PAP MP let out a hand to assist my dad to talk to my previous employer to ask him whether he can void the clause in his contract taking in consideration my dad plight and situation. The PAP MP never gave up on my dad case and keep on helping my dad till my dad employer decided to let the matter go to allow my dad to continue working in his current company.
It was that promise by a PAP MP, the heart and dedication to do their best to serve every single Singaporean and ensure that no one is left behind that manages to change someone life. 16 years have passed, I have graduated and is running my own IT business while my brother is undergoing his PHD scholarship. Although my dad was no longer around to see this but it was this PAP MP that changes the future of my family
.
Over the 31 years in Bishan Toa Payoh, I have seen the transformation of the GRC, from a old small town to a prime HDB estate we now call home. All these years, the PAP MP in the GRC have taken care and ensured that the place we called home continues improving and the residents being taken care off. My story is just one of the many story that have changed someone life because of the helped rendered by a PAP MP.
On 7th May 2011, we will be casting our votes to decide Singapore future. Whether the PAP candidates can continue to make an impact and have the ability to changed someone's life for a better relies on every single one of us. Support them so that they can continue fighting for everyone of us, ensuring that our estates continue to flourish, my problems are being addressed.
Are we going to leave our home to someone who has never been there to take care of us for all the years that we have been here? Are we going to leave our home to someone who have never contributed and have never grow with us in this estate? Are we going to leave our home to someone whose whole life have never been part of us in the estate and throwing out someone who whole life have been serving us and improved our lives and our home. Are we going to leave our home to someone who does not have a single plan on what they can do for us.
The future of every Singaporean depends on your vote hence I urge everyone to vote wisely. Vote for someone who was there with us side by side as we grow, Vote for someone who has promised and delivered for so many years to serve our GRC and transform it into the Bishan Toa Payoh we see today. Vote for someone who has day in day out made a difference and impact in someone's life for the better, Vote for someone who we can trust as we build our future together. Vote WISELY and not BLINDLY.
